About Alexander Finger

Dr. Finger received his bachelor of science degree in biology at Union College in Schenectady, New York. He then went on to receive his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Finger completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at New York University Langone Orthopedic Hospital (fka Hospital for Joint Diseases) in Manhattan. During his training, Dr. Finger served as a team physician for the New York Mets. He was also a physician for the Alvin Ailey dance company in Manhattan. He was also inducted into the national medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Finger is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Finger is highly trained in all aspects of orthopedics, including joint replacements, sports medicine, foot and ankle problems, and trauma. He has had special training in minimally invasive joint replacements and also focuses on nonoperative treatment for hip and knee arthritis.
